Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar (original recipe using brown sugar and Castor sugar)
  • 3 yolks(original recipe using both yolk and egg whites)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch of salt
how to:
  1. beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until incorporated
  3. turn off the mixer
  4. sift together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt and then add to the butter and egg mixture
  5. stir it until well incorporated
  6. Using a spoon, place about 1 tablespoon of batter on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 3 cm apart
  7. Bake for approximately 8 - 10 minutes or until the the cookies are still soft in the center but are firm around the edges
tips :
  • Remove from oven and let cookies cool on baking sheet for about 5 minutes before removing the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • use only yolks so the cookies will be crispy on the edges but still chewy at the center .
  • u can add chopped walnuts or cashew to the batter
