tiramisu cake


eid mubarak for all moslems around the world :) i decided to make tiramisu for today since all my cousins will gather and def demand some sweets :) hehehhehehe got the recipe from mba Fatmah as always . she is a cooking genius lol but i translate it in english since this blog is written in english .

what is tiramisu? based on wikipedia tiramisu is an italian dessert made of ladyfingers (Italian: Savoiardi) dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone cheese, and flavored with liquor and cocoa. but i exclude liquor hehhehe im a moslem so , i dont drink or use liquor at all . i dont want to brag or something lol i maybe sound like one lol but this tiramisu is better than aaaaaaaaaany i had tasted in bakery in my town lol Mba Fatmah, u truly an amazing cooker ! :D

ingredients: 
  • 250 gr mascarpone cheese 
  • 300 ml whipped cream 
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 
  • 4 yolks 
  • 50 gr castor sugar 
  • 2 tbsp coffee 
  • 150 ml lukewarm water 
  • 1 tbsp sugar 
  • 20 lady finger biscuits 
directions: 
  1. ok, im gonna post it based on what i did first . okay? first, beat the whipped cream then put in the refrigerator then whisk also mascarpone cheese and also put in the refrigerator. 
  2. now, lets make the custard. beat yolk, sugar and vanilla extract with mixer . turn it off , now prepare a bowl of hot water then continue stir the mixture at the top of the bowl until the water is cooled off. just continue hard stirring until the yolk is fluffy and the color turn out to be paler 
  3. now mix whipped cream, mascarpone cheese and the yolk mixture . 
  4. in another bowl mix water, coffee and sugar . 
  5. prepare plastic mica, and make it round using a double tape . 
  6. dip the lady finger into the coffee mixture . now arrange the lady finger in the bottom then top it with the creamy mixture , top it again with lady fingers then top it again with the cream mixture. 
  7. sprinkles with chocolate powder at the top of the cake 
  8. put in refrigerator for a night 
for those who cant find this biscuit in your grocery shop in ur town, here is the recipe of lady fingers . i found it at Maki's blog :) thank youuuuu <3 actually , i made a lot more than i needed for the tiramisu . i planned that bc the biscuit is sooo good and its really nice to dip in a cup of coffee (coffee addict, here lol) so, yeaaa i made lots of lady fingers heheheh 

ingredients: 
  • 10 egg whites 
  • 10 yolks 
  • 250 gr flour 
  • 250 gr sugar
directions: 
  1. Preheat oven and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. 
  2. beat the egg whites and sugar until white and fluffy 
  3. add the yolks that has been beaten separately in a bowl earlier 
  4. add the flour 
  5. Transfer the batter to the pastry bag and, holding the bag at about a 45 degree angle to the baking sheet, pipe the batter into 7.5 cm long ladyfingers. Pipe the batter leaving about 2 cm space between the cookies. 
  6. bake for 15 minutes
